Hello! My name is Andie. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Journalism-reporting and a certificate in business. In and out of college, my career-interests include writing, editing and radio.
A little about myself: my personal heroes include Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Toby Young, Mindy Kaling, and Nora Ephron. I’ve read all of these women’s memoirs and essays (and this man’s How to Lose Friends and Alienate People), and in forty-some years I hope I will have accumulated enough life experience to write a book of Miss-Ephron-worthy essays about age, the city, and career-women.
What I love includes Chicago in the summertime, art museums, journalists’ memoirs and telling people weird stories about being a Slovenian. I also love snail mail (anyone else still send these things? It takes about a week and half the time I receive the letter back in my own mailbox, everything crossed off in thick black marker. I love it.) and complaining about young people and technology (I’m basically a really annoyed grandmother.)
