I’ve already touched upon how new media can be clever by association with Art. Maybe it’s just because I am part of my specific generation in a specific era of advertising, but a good, referential as is usually the best ad. Whether the ad is referring to art history, or another ad, or vintage posters.
The series also makes clear the blurred lines between the celebrity and advertising communities. Just like kids my age brand themselves to get a job or fit in with a certain group, celebrities brand themselves in order to retain a certain image.
